Great radio Fodder But Hardly Life Changing
Returning with the fourth single release from their debut album, Orson continue to traipse along the well worked path of crafting a pop tune that tries to masquerade as a rock track.
It's been a tried and tested formula for the Hollywood band; one that has seen them produces quintessential radio friendly hits that have dominated the airwaves, but with this being their fourth release, there is a feeling that we've all been here before. 'Already Over' treads the same anthemic waters that Orson's pop laced rock has already waded through; there's the guitar fuelled rhythm, the funky soul edge beats and the all important sweeping chorus that threatens to take over the entire track. Chuck in some catchy hooks, some unthreatening grand gestures towards being a rock outfit and a melody that will guarantee your local FM station will have it on continuous rotation and you have the basic ingredients for an Orson tune. Great radio fodder but hardly life changing.
