Fuzzy punky indie-rock.
Centrifuge make quite an interesting noise; discordant and fuzzy guitars that build to a crescendo on 'Carnival/carnivore', and 'Shotgun Funeral'. They have a sound that's somewhere between really old fashioned nineties indie, and ...And you will know us by the trail of dead in the early days when they were punkier and harder.
Unfortunately both of the tracks on the single are let down by the vocals, which are pretty weak and sound a bit too moany and Oasisish and even though the single has potential and plenty of passion, underneath the surface of the DIY sounding production and the fuzzy guitars they actually have quite a straightforward sound. Instead they stick to a safer more accessible and tune driven sound, neither as heavy or as quirky and angular as they could be.
