Much more appealing than a dead horse
Viva Voce are a band and married couple from Alabama, USA; the two-piece formed in 1998 and 'Faster Than A Dead Horse' is taken from their third album 'Get Yr Blood Sucked Out'. Their aggressive album/song titles may not initially appear to match up with their soft yet vivacious Latin-derived name, but when the music starts to play the two combine to make perfect sense.
'Faster Than A Dead Horse' is a melting pot of pop and rock influences, melding heavy guitar riffs with doo-wop sing-along vocals and a foot-tapping drum beat. It's a fresh sound, something that will appeal to indie fans without being a typical sound-alike piece of modern indie, to open-minded pop fans who don't mind a bit (or a lot) of guitar and even to fans of more alternative or experimental genres due to its originality. It remains catchy even after several consecutive plays and with any justice it will ignite more interest in both Viva Voce and their latest album.
