A vicious monochrome onslaught of scythe-sharp proportions, The Violets take inner turmoil and twist it inside out with disconcerting power. 'Foreo' combines spiky guitar cries with vigorous vocals that sound like they come from a possessed siren; it's a frisson of psychotic sonic excitement that will have you foaming at the mouth. B-side 'Emerald' sounds like a nightmare in a doll's house with chugging guitar riffs and squeals mugging you at each turn as the hairs on the back of your neck prickle.
As a contrast haunting soundscape 'Hang And Fall' is a slow, drawn-out tune that keeps you mesmerised by its hollow sounds and piercing vocals that have you like a zombie ready to oblige singer Alixus' every command. This spooky trio are one to check out this year.
