Indie-pop with bite.
New York four piece Nightmare of you release 'My Name Is Trouble'/ 'Dear Scene' as a double A side, however one track is miles better than the other. 'Dear Scene', is a very average indie pop single with a reasonably catchy Strokes vs Killers kind of sound. It seems happy to amble along, and doesn't get going until the very end when the vocals get really interesting for a second before it ends. Overall, unfortunately the tune is nothing special or particularly memorable.
It's lucky then that My Name is Trouble is such a good track; it has much more of an electronica/ pop-punk sound reminiscent of Heavens; slightly downbeat, slightly gothy pop with much more of an emotional edge and a really, really catchy and memorable chorus, It's a million times more interesting, and makes you think they might actually have something exciting to offer beyond the standard indie-pop fare.
