Cinematic rock.

Cardiff band The Stopmotion Men make a hell of a lot of noise for a three piece, it's a good job it's a good noise. The band have more than a passing interest in film, this 3 track single comes with 3 short films (or for the rest of us, music videos), on a DVD, it's a nice little package; with the story being told in the lyrics effectively depicted in the visuals. However, you don't have to watch and listen at the same time to get something out of this release. Although the two parts work well together and you can see what the band is trying to achieve, the songs don't lose anything when played separately.

The tracks on three songs are really addictive listening and have an epic, intentionally cinematic feel; piano and some really nice fuzzy guitar riffs make a heavyish rock sound reminiscent of Pearl Jam ('Attention') or even Muse at times ('Fake Your Death') and the vocals are excellent.
