Ridicule And Electro Beats, What More Could You Want?
With their tongue wedged firmly in their cheek, LCD Soundsystem (or James Murphy to be more precise) mark their return to the musical world by jovially poking fun at their motherland in 'North American Scum', a track that laughs not only at the way in which their fellow countrymen behave but also how Europeans in particular immediately judge the American abroad.
Taken from their new album, Sound Of Silver (due for release in March), 'North American Scum' picks up from where LCD Soundsystem last left off, bringing an abundance of DIY beats to puncture the cool and detached vocals that rip through insistently sharp pop riffs guaranteed to have the indie kids dancing their cares away. Add to this backing vocals that unload a hefty helping of glam rock as they howl and screech and suddenly this simple little dance number has transformed into a Friday night must have. Ridicule and electro beats, what more could you want?
