The talented Kate.
Kate Walsh has a name that sounds very much like Kate Nash but thankfully that is where the similarities end. Ms. Nash is a gobby little mare whose pronunciation of "bitter" (or "bittah" as she seems to believe it is said) has been known to make grown men punch fillies in the face. Kate Walsh has a voice and delivery that is near-Angelic and lifts a song that in the wrong hands could be plodding and trite into a track that soars and glides with giddy joy.
'Your Song' is not a cover of the Elton John hit but it is a tribute to a loved one, a rather touching track about the feelings Kate has for someone and how far she would go to even just kiss that special person. Boy and joy is a very simple rhyme but its used to good effect on this track, which rises higher and higher in the middle section before dropping back down to provide a calm and quieter finish.
The music backing is sparse but delicate and anything else would be wasteful or detrimental to the wonder of Kate Walsh's voice and with a full touring schedule to come, there is every opportunity for everyone to see the singer and find out her talent for themselves.
