Chariots -The Inner Life

Back in 2004 Chariots proved that a British band could take on its American counterparts in the world of emo-violence and won over plenty of fans with their energetic live performances. The band then went their separate ways.

Now a temporary reformation sees the band releasing a new EP; 'The Inner Life'. Not only have the band reformed they decided to knock down any boundaries that were put on them and making any genres previously linked to them really off the mark. The band have now gone down the heavier road of post rock and thrown in some atmospheric instrumental interludes for good measure. 'Last Judgement' has some really good musical skills but the overlaying screamed vocals really don't suit the music behind it, it seems like a bit of a mess, like two songs thrown together without a care for the end result.

Musically the album is great closing track 'The Inner Life' really highlights that, but the poor production and uncomfortable sounding vocals that litter the album really let it down.
