Caught in a jet stream.
Middle of the road Australian stadium rockers, Jet, release the title track from their 2006 album "Shine On". Judging from the lyrics it seems like an important track for the band. Apparently the song was written about the death of a family member, so as you would expect it's a slightly melancholy tune, however, it's played more as an emotional tribute, so it has an uplifting, anthemic crescendo towards the end.
For fans of the band (and they have plenty of them) this will probably speak volumes, but to the uninitiated it will undoubtedly seem pretty uninspiring and unmemorable. The track is Jet in full on ballad mode, and as usual for their tunes it's got a laid back 60's feel reminiscent of The Beatles. But unfortunately, this track is so laid back it's practically horizontal, it doesn't really have much of a tune to speak of and gets boring really quickly.
