Don't be fooled by the name
I'm quite partial to a bit of Drum and Bass every now and again. It is the sound my head makes during a particularly bad hangover, but nonetheless, I quite like it. But a CD compromising of three remixed tracks from a new album seems a bit lazy as a release and if this is supposed to be a tantalising introduction to Pink Punk and their new album Zoo Politics, I afraid it hasn't worked.
Despite 'One More for the Road' being remixed by Tech Itch, who has produced Goldie's new album, it fails to properly shine. Although making some valid political points, 'Iraqi lottery. Lose a leg; lose a head' and 'Brothers strapping bombs to their chests out of necessity', it just falls a bit flat.
The Riso remix of Hero – who himself is a rising Dubstep star - also falls down. Musically it is a little sparse, 'Who's fucking who in Hollywood?' asks vocalist Yap. My suggestion: stop the all the angst and get Heat magazine.
This doesn't have the danceability of bands such as Pendulum and on the basis of these tracks, despite posing some poignant political ideas, i'm afraid it doesn't bode too well for the upcoming album.
