'lust For Life
Do you like shouty agit-pop with added recorders and a distinctly wonky organ riff that sounds like it was lifted from a warped 60's garage 7"? If you do you'll no doubt fall in love with Das Wanderlust's latest platter "Sunday School".
On the evidence of this single (out now on the new sister label of Fierce Panda – Cool For Cats) cult fame beckons for the intrepid duo and one suspects this would be part of the Das Wanderlust master-plan if they were Hoxton hipsters trying to catch a ride on the nu-rave gravy train. Thankfully this Teeside based outfit are refreshingly unpretentious DIY punks who are clearly more interested in having fun as opposed to anything else. Is it wrong that I actually prefer the A.D.D. addled extra track "Supermarkets vs Greengrocers" (a vigorous workout from the lovechild of Bis and Maximo Park) to the 'A' side, I'm not sure. Like Marmite you'll either love or hate this single. I'm quite partial to it myself but only when it's on toast and this single isn't half bad either (ker-ching!).
