Passion Packed
Following their energetic and successful appearance at this year's Download Festival, My Vitriol make their much anticipated return with their latest EP, A Pyrrhic Victory.
Charismatically dark, 'War Of The Worlds' binds pain fuelled vocals to soaring guitars that perfectly combine making for an emotionally led track. 'Lord Knows How I've Tried' continues to find My Vitriol tugging at the heartstrings as the laid back beat and woeful vocals blend into one another exposing a hauntingly beautiful song that radiates raw emotion as it encompasses My Vitriol's skill of crafting a cinematic track that reels you further and further into the groups world. My Vitriol even manage to throw a cover in for good measure with Makita's 'Toy Soldiers' receiving a reworking. Brandishing an incessant and infectious beat, 'Toy Soldiers' looses its old melancholy suit, trading it for an uplifting dose of oomph that breathes new life into the track whilst still retaining the true sentiment of the song.
They may have been away for a short while but A Pyrrhic Victory marks a happy return for the band. Packed with passion and able to invoke a strange combination of dark emotion, My Vitriol are most definitely back at their best.
