Scot Harris is back with another electro-dance hit
Maths can be fun. Not the maths you do in school that's all quadratic equations, algebra and isosceles triangles; that was rubbish. Music maths is great; it's the fine and fun scientific technique of simply explaining the make up of music. Let us do some calculations!
Gin + Vodka + Beer + More Vodka + Wine + Seductive Soulful Voice x Issues = Amy Winehouse
Trailer park x No Knickers / Talent – Self Respect = Britney Spears
Repetitive Beats + Space Age Blips and Beats x Lists = Calvin Harris' The Girls.
Following up from 'Acceptable in the 80s', electro-dance merchant Calvin Harris is back with another semi-anthemic slice of dance floor bothering music. Sure to be played in every club up and down the land this summer and spun in every venue at least every half hour intervals in Ibiza, this is going to be a huge summer hit.
A little repetitive, especially in the whole 'I like (insert description) girls' part, and with some similarities to 'Put your hands up for Detroit', this is the musical equivalent of Marmite. This will either make your night when you hear it in a club and you'll immediately rush from where you are to throw some shapes, or will leave you standing and sulking at the sidelines nursing a warm beer.
Maybe not a complete classic, this will no doubt be on every single compilation album this year come the end of the year, so whether you like it or not, you'd better get used to it.
