Seasoned Indie Rockers' new single
An unrelenting banger of a single from Six.By Seven. “Catch the Rain” is like The Doves on steroids with an injection of “I am the Resurrection” by The Stone Roses. It rattles along a right old pace but without ever really leaving any deep impression. In a live environment its visceral quality would probably shine through and win the day but at home it just sounds a tad pedestrian.
The flipside, “I don’t know why I smoke” is more interesting and reminiscent of New Order circa ‘Power, Corruption and Lies”, but ultimately it lacks a defining focal point to separate it from the pack and warrant frequent listening.
