More heart, guts and everything out on sleeve

Anyone would think that Sounds like Violence's singer Andreas Soderlund has some what a monopoly on heartbreak. Every offering from the band seems to concentrate, well lyrically at least, on betrayal, deceit and the loss of love and their latest offering is another heart, guts and everything else on sleeve offering. .

Searing and intelligent, Heartless Wreck is angst filled to the rafters. 'I just want my heart back/you can send it back in the post' wails Soderlund as he reflects on the tumult of emotions rekindled by phoning his ex, ten years after their split. Not much is revealed about the split but the macabre imagery of his ex using his heart to decorate the white walls of their flat might be a strong indicator of where the blame lies.

With vitriol spurting from every drum crash, cascading off every hand clap and dripping from every word, this is the kind of angry anthem that anyone who has ever been cruelly dumped can clearly relate to. The shout it out loud of 'I have been a heartless wreck' is a perfect angry scream if the mood or situation takes you.

Sounds like Violence are one of those bands who seem to feel everything intensely. They create that urgent and impassioned music that sometimes you just need to hear.
