Post American Idol grunge.
What is it with these talent show people, they're everywhere these days and always seem guaranteed to sell a shed load of records. Chris Daughtry was one of the 'more interesting' rock style singers in the running to win American Idol last year, but in the end he only finished fourth. Since then though he's sold a ridiculous 2.4 million copies of his debut album at least, so he's laughing.
This single is pretty much the same kind of stuff he sang on the show, medium heavy, really American sounding rock, with an emotive, anthemic chorus; a bit like Creed (so, a seriously watered down Pearl Jam then) with less over the top vocals. He's got an alright voice and the tune is fine but it's just so middle of the road it's hard to be really enthusiastic about it.
