Plenty of Promise

Young London band Kingsize caused a stir before their music was even released, getting XFM and Virgin Radio acclaim, now double a-side, 'Girl'/'Boy' is out, it's easy to see what attracted these industry pundits to the freshly formed group. Slick riffs, insistent beats and a hint of shuffling ska alongside an indie longing, Kingsize are sure to catch on.

'Girl' is a jangly tune with an unrestrained punk energy in the raucous vocals, blaring out lines like, "Miss, I think that you're starting to take the piss, Miss". It's not Shakespeare, but that's not what you're looking for in a perky little anthem to pick you up, which 'Girl' will most certainly do.

'Boy' on the other hand, is brasher and has a stronger rhythm that will soon flow through your body making resistance futile. Edgy and sharp with shuddering guitars, this is a lithe tune that will snake its way through the airwaves with subtle strength.

'Girl' and 'Boy' are the perfect partnership, showing the best of Kingsize with effusive energy and street-smart spirit. Though currently a little scatty and unpolished in sound, Kingsize have the essential components in these great tunes, making them one to watch out for.
