High Fashion or High Street

I thought he was dead! Well waddaya know, Hanoi Rocks are still inflicting their brand of music onto the paying public. Original members Andy McCoy (and obviously) Mike Monroe still in attendance. Like others of their time and genre Hanoi Rocks reformed their first comeback in 2001. Nowadays they have recruited one half of what used to be the Electric Boys, enter guitarist Conny Bloom and bassist Andy Christell.

Hanoi Rocks releases new material in the shape of the long-awaited first single off the new album due in September. 'Fashion' combines the Hanoi Rocks of old song writing elements with their new and powerful sound. The song is a step back to the classic style, but the twang guitar gives it a unique Chris Issak sound. 'Fashion' is the first song recorded by the line-up, who have been touring since 2004. The song is a strong proof of this line ups capabilities and 'Fashion' turned out to be the very first song finished for the new album. Mike Monroe, never the best singer but has the style and attitude to carry this band along.

Besides 'Fashion' there is a cover version of 'Trouble Boys', which originally was released by Billy Bremner (Leeds Utd? He kept that quiet). All I can say about this is that its average. What do you expect from an ex footballer!!

There are also 2 videos - a music video for 'Fashion' and a live video of 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' recorded in March 2007.

Already the single has hit No.1 in their homeland of Finland when it was released in May.

For old fans of The Rocks it's a no-brainer, for me is just ok
