The Checks - Take me There

New Zealand five piece, the Checks formed at the age of 15, which was only about 5 years ago, and have since had a meteoritic rise with their age defying bluesy garage rock sound after only one release back home and now moved over here to record their album, Hunting Whales, which is due for release in September.

Take me there is the first commercial single to be taken from the album. The infectious beat builds rapidly towards an explosive chorus that highlights the vocalist, Ed Nowles rasping roar of a voice. It is hard to believe Ed wrote the lyrics when he was 17. They are full of rhyming couplets such as 'she is training pigeons, to lose their bearings, they deliver earrings, to girls with no hearing' and seem to have much more knowledge and life experience put in there that such a young fella should have. This is a great song to promote the band and can't wait for the album.
