A New Type Of History Lesson

If there's one thing you can rely on in life it's that history lessons are the same no matter where you are. Kids adopt the obligatory position of sitting bored rigid, struggling to stifle a yawn whilst the monotonous voice of the history teacher steadily puts them into a coma. You see, history lacks the glamour and appeal of other subjects like music or art, well at least that was the case until now. Setting out on a four man campaign to pack some much needed appeal into history, Good Books will perhaps have kids learning more from their unconventional teaching methods than the National Curriculum could ever dream of.

Begging the day's lesson in World War One, Good Books' 'Passchendaele' recites the tale of a father and son who both fought in the Great War. Brimming with a human touch of emotion and swimming in a vat of everydayness that can not fail to make you relate to the tragic tale, 'Passchendaele' manages to bring the futility of war to life, poignantly so in today's climate. Wedging in some electro beats amongst Good Books pop mentality this is a track to make you think as you tap along merrily. Although not as catchy as the quartet's usual offering, 'Passchendaele' ticks every art rock box, highlighting the depth of the band and proving that this is a group that can bring both style and substance to the lesson.
