Midas - Red Shoes
Take one large pot, add a sprinkle of Muse, a dash of the Foo Fighters and little of the Strokes and you have Midas. After the success of their debut track 'Don't Dance', the Stourbridge five piece return to release their second track, 'Red Shoes.' Midas write fasted paced tunes about teenage life, whether it's dodging fights, or being embarrassed by your girl, the guys use personal experiences as inspiration. This track is an ironic look at why dedicated followers of fashion, go out in a pair of shoes that cause you hell all night long.
'Red Shoes' is very upbeat and a great sounding rock tune. The combination of sounds with the strong vocals of Kris goes together like crackers and cheese or Pete Wentz and eyeliner. The vocals are smooth and not as rough as you would expect from a rock artist, this makes the track easier on the ear, catchier and much more enjoyable. As well as the basic instruments, there is an underlying sound from Rich that is mysterious and very edgy...a great tune to sink your heels into.
