Caribou (formerly Manitoba, AKA Dan Snaith) is the composer of euphoric, dazzlingly electronic psychedelic sounds. Before releasing his fourth full-length album "Andorra" here is just as taster of what is to come; very experimental symphony pop music.
'Melody Day' is packed of instruments; a smooth flowing flute, the tinkling of keys, smooth yet edgy guitars, drums, waves of electronics, crashing cymbals, and what sounds like strings. With a combination like this, you may expect too many sounds to distinguish one from the other, but in fact they all work very well to make this tune an exciting listen. With vocals from the out set, it is a little difficult at time to understand the meaning behind the song and the lyrics since the vocals are quiet and low-pitched. The vocals do however blend in with the melodies like a sea of sounds.
