Gorgeous Intense Tales

Angular and incisive, Manchester Orchestra's sound is full of vitriol and shimmering melodies, singer Andy Hull's distinctive drawl recalls that of Brian Molko, but only in its fresh and unique edge. 'Wolves At Night' is a cutting and vibrant tune with organs enough to make you quiver, anxious stumbling rhythms and looming guitars; it's nerves on a stick exploding into a melodic and atmospheric chorus. The power and instrumental restraint is enough to make you shudder as this superb tune climaxes in splendour.

'Sacred Heart' is a delicate and tense lullaby with barely whispered vocals brushing sensually past your ears over rippling acoustic guitar backing, it's a sweet and reflective number that's a stark contrast to the raw aggression of 'Wolves At Night'.

Manchester Orchestra are certainly worthy of your attention with glittering and gritty tunes.
