Brilliant Tunes From Feisty Bands
Organ have been sneakily releasing some of the best-value singles in the music industry for some time now and the latest in their 33 strong 'Org-an-ised' series is a stunner.
Featuring Herzoga and To The Bones as the main highlights, the single also boasts a further 13 tracks of deliciously underground artists to feast upon.
First off, we're treated to the indie-pop of Herzoga in the form of 'Things To Say'. It's a meaty slap of wrong-pop (a phrase with its roots in the Wrong Pop gigs they frequent) that urges you to get up and strut your stuff.
Single-mates To The Bones provide a loud and proud bellow that dirty, grunged up indie-rock is still alive and kicking with their track 'Tycho'. It's a highly energised song with the kind of bite that is lacking from so many bands music these days. If you love your hooks dirty and your guitars fuzzed up and ready to rock, then this song should see you bouncing around joyously.
A refreshing change of pace is now needed and Herzoga are the band that are up for the challenge. Their second track 'Bumper To Bumper' has a much darker feel and somewhere lurking beneath that feisty bassline is the kind of talent that screams out that great things lie ahead.
The final track from To The Bones, 'Rex', manages to flex its rocked-up chaos effortlessly. It's invigorating and the perfect addition to a party playlist if you're hoping to liven things up a little.
Also featured are up and coming bands such as Death of London and their monstrously loud song 'New York', Flies Are Spies From Hell bringing their atmospheric 'Blood Runs Down My Satisfied Face As I Scream With Delight' into the mix. Other highlights include the brilliantly named Zag And The Coloured Beads and their funky 'Truckhouse' and the dark brilliance of Map.
Overall, a damn good CD for a mere £2. To get your copy, head over to Organ now.
