Future Of The Left - Curses

'Curses' is the debut album from Welsh rockers Future Of The Left, but with members formerly being in Mclusky and Jarcrew it is fair to say these guys are no strangers to the music scene.

Opening track 'The Lord Hates A Coward' erupts with a heavy bassline and pounding drums, from the outset it is clear from the outset that these guys mean business. The one thing that did take me by surprise on that track is although the music is heavy the vocal style was very reminiscent of Jack Black. If you're a fan on Future Of The Left you would have heard all the songs on 'Curses' in one form or the other via the band's Myspace page.

I can't deny that this album is diverse and entertaining and the entertainment value is not just down to the comedic vocals. Although the majority of the album is made up of grinding guitar tracks, Future For Left have managed to create quite a catchy sing-along track in the shape of 'Adeadenemyalwayssmeallsgood', as sick and twisted as that may sound.

If I'm honest I haven't heard a lot of Mclusky's or Jacrew's work but from what I have heard the music the guys definitely sound a lot sharper and tighter on here in comparisons to their earlier work, 'Curses' is well worth checking out.
