Smashing Catchy Indie

Reverend and The Makers appear to be just what we need to get some well needed action in the world of indie, enough of lazy songwriting and mellow "summer" songs, 'He Said He Loved Me' is a frisky and hilariously catchy indie disco number. Electro beats pulse away behind the tongue in cheek female vocals, which display one of the most dreadful rhymes ever - Keeley and "need me". This fake cockney drawl is the only irritating part of an otherwise infectious and brilliant tune that steals Hard-Fi's street level indie pop title due to its far superior melody.

'You Get Alone Sometimes It Just Makes Sense' is rather similar to the a-side, which somewhat detracts from the overall excitement about the band, but it's a solid and funky tune, like The Killers grew up on the streets of London. 'God Is In The TV' is a raucous guitar-led number with a rumbling bassline and thrashing riffs describing society's reliance on the big or small screen for our information.
