Moody, poppy, rocky.

This single taken from the band's new album "Black Earth Tiger" retains their punk roots and melodic choruses, however, it's a much more polished and mature band we're hearing here.

Emanuel always managed to avoid being your standard emo/screamo, or whatever you wanted to try and pigeonhole them as, because they take their cues from rock and roll and punk instead of pop; even though they have catchy sections they also had a rough quality that endeared them to the listener really quickly.

That rough almost lo-fi quality is what seems to be missing from this single, instead there is a fuller, more mainstream sound. That's not to say it's any less addictive to listen to, because it's not, as always they manage to hook you in straight away and the tune sticks with you when its gone, it's just that some of the freshness and energy has gone.
