The Enemy - You're Not Alone

Coventry trio The Enemy are back with their new single 'You're Not Alone'. Now, when I saw The Enemy supporting The Paddingtons I hated them, not because their music was bad but because of their cocky, Burberry top wearing twerp of a frontman, however, I'm big enough not to let my personal dislike of him come affect my review.

'You're Not Alone' is powered along by a chugging riff with frontman Tom Clarke's vocals perfectly overlaid with a laddish swagger before peaking at a big sing-along chorus filled with working class angst. Although 'You're Not Alone' is much stronger than their previous single releases, it's built around the same structure as 'Had Enough' and 'Away From Here'. The main difference on here is that the lyrics are much stronger than on their previous efforts.

'You're Not Alone' is bound to be a favourite amongst fans of the band, being their strongest release I think it will also attract a lot of new ears, so I guess it's a shame for The Enemy that Alex Zane has refused to play their music because that is bound to cost them a few record sales.
