Kreator – Enemy Of God

Carving a solid underground reputation and a storming performance at the annual “Hole In The Sky” Festival in Norway, Kreator have produced their 11th studio album, “Enemy Of God”.

From the word go, Kreator kick off with the title trick into a head-bang inducing frenzy. In many ways Kreator have stuck to the thrash blueprint writing songs that mean something, tackling real subjects. “Impossible Brutality” is a tirade against the media desensitising the viewer with the atrocities in this world. “Suicide Terrorist” is a self-explanatory opus on suicide bombings. Vocalist Petrozza has distinct voice (think of the snarl of Dave Mustaine and the shriek of Tom Araya), which is as punchy as Mike Tyson’s fist against your cranium.

Produced by music maestro Andy Sneap (Arch Enemy, Machine Head, Skinlab) Enemy Of God is a polished juggernaut of raw European energy. With many American acts name checking many European counterparts, old school metal from the continent is becoming fashionable (although it never did go away).

If you were disappointed by the new Megadeth album or can’t wait for the next Slayer album this record will do more the just make a good substitute.
