Biffy Clyro – Machines
Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro recently released their fourth, and their most successful album in the mainstream, 'Puzzle'; an album written with feeling and emotion, none of which is more prevalent than on the next release 'Machines', the concluding track on the album.
This slow acoustic number is full of love with lyrics like "I would dig a thousand holes to lay next to you/I would dig a thousand more if I needed to", as well as guitar, and at times violins, to add a peaceful, gentle touch. The vocals, which are soothing and less rock, suit the tune perfectly. The repetition of "I've started falling apart I'm not savouring life/Take the pieces and build them skywards" is a little cyclic but the lines work very well with instrumental interludes.
Now that Biffy Clyro have established themselves within the mainstream and their material is charting quite highly, 'Machines' is set to follow previous singles and shoot to the top.
