Bloodline – No Turning Back

Bloodline is a heavy metal from Derry with influences from the likes of Pantera, Slayer, Metallica, Machine Head and Black Label Society.
To sound like any of these bands is a great achievement and will be a massive credit to them. To sound like all of these bands is impossible. Unfortunately however Bloodline sound like none of them.
They're right in saying they're heavy metal, but the tracks are simply too repetitive and lack any memorable hook. There's also a problem with the not very deep voiced vocalist, it sounds like a 10 year-old boy singing a Pantera track.

The opener on the EP has a very promising start, it's fast paced and you can tell they're technically good. But as soon as the vocals begin the lack of melody and song structure is apparent, almost as if the vocals were an afterthought.

Track 2 has more of a clumsy start and there's something missing in the mix, it's just not quite heavy enough and it's based around rhythmic power chords.
Track 3 begins with a more interesting riff and I can see the Pantera influence in this. But this type of music deserves a deep hearty growl of a voice, it oozes masculinity in every way without the vocals so unless they find a male singer I'd find it very uncomfortable listening.
