Kingsize - The Daze

Here's a single which is raw and rocky. Its lyrics slur then scream then slur again and it has a chorus that compels you to sing-a-long

The Daze is a single that wouldn't sound out of place on commercial radio nor would it stand out on a dedicated rock show. It has riffs that are simple and scratchy and lyrics that are equally explicit and just as agreeable.

Kingsize are a band working in and out of London. Their brand of indie/rock is hardly revelatory given the current musical climate though it's certainly effective. The single is further strengthened by the B sides Amsterdam and Temptress with the former being particularly strong and anthemic.

The band are in their adolescence since evolving from a Nottingham based three piece to a four piece that is creating quite a stir in the capital. Here's hoping that they go on to fulfil their vast potential and that this single serves as a tantalising taster of things to come rather than a false dawn.
