Ever wondered what chrome sounds like?

"Dear Me", taken from Film School's upcoming "Hideout" album, does not hold any surprises but, with it's bleak and maudlin sound echoing Editors and Manic Street Preachers, the single is definitely worth pushing play for.

With vocals doubled tracked, industrially steely guitars and synth this song fits perfectly with the name of the band. This is the kind of song that one envisages a video in the mind, of grey city-scapes and people in thick overcoats smoking cigarettes moodily. It's oddly uplifting, not because it sounds so but because it takes you to another place at another time.

The single does slip up on its B-Sides though - "Two Kinds" slots in a jarring keyboard part which sounds annoying rather than post modern and "Plots And Plans" will more than likely bore you to tears. But that aside, "Dear Me" has enough clout and interest to be at least worth a pop on iTunes.
