A good reaon to still believe that music is the answer.
All too rarely, you hear something that, straight off the bat, sounds like it's important and seminal. Whether that's because the melody is strong, arrangements are excellent or simply because it has caught you in a good mood is somewhat of a mystery, but all that you know is that you just want to keep listening to it over and over again.
This is truly and honestly the case with "Home In A Sentence". This is the song that you have been waiting for. Building slowly and capturing Kenny Anderson's voice in full control of his impressive vocal range before developing into a delicate yet anthemic crescendo that cannot help but warm your heart, moisten your eyes and upturn your mouth.
In an age where the male British singer-songwriting is best known for the faux hippy-chic of Newton Faulkner and the overexcited gormlessness of Jack Penate, "Home In A Sentence" reminds us of exactly what the genre should be – imageless and reliant on nothing but great writing set to simple but meaningful production. And in this, King Creosote has done himself proud. Outstanding stuff.
