The Twang + sheer class
There have been many, many new found gems in the year 2007 but not too a lot of them whiff of true talent. The Twang, thankfully, are not just one of the pack. It’s been a good year for the Birmingham five some, and they’ve shown real promise for a vigorous and solid future in the music scene.
No band has produced such a diverse and extravagant sound like that of the Twang; A spectacular sound-blend of The Streets and Blur. The Twang are bursting with a relentless radiance and vitality and they are in a league of their own when it comes to potential and of coarse originality.
What better way to cap-off an excellent year than to experiment with some old, familiar sounds. “Push The Ghosts” is a play on Salt n Pepa’s “Push it” renowned bass-line but dominated by the band’s awe-inspiring unique stride. As always their choice of lyrics is incredible, not to forget Phil Etheridge’s prominent vocals, matched wonderfully by the band’s usual robust instrumentation. This is a really good track; highly-recommended.
