From the name, do you expect acoustic guitar?

If you read the singer's name and thought that this is going to be folksy blues with a modern twist then please pat yourself on the back and say well done. Because that's exactly what this is. Unashamedly twee and sweet, and all the better for it.

"Now That You're Mine" utilities McVicar's soft yet powerful voice to good effect and has the same kind of confident, carefree musical accompaniment that helps you on the way to forgetting your troubles and enjoying the sunshine. If there is one problem its that it is about as deep as a small jiffy bag, but one can't really hold that against it. What can rightly have a black mark cast upon it is the b-side, "Not The Time", a pointless boring dirge through lame structures and with no kind of exciting payoff at the end of it.

What the future holds for Rory McVicar based on this single is somewhat hazy, but as far as it goes and ignoring the second track, this is just about a winner.
