Enjoy Destroy - Little Dreams

Enjoy Destroy had an incredible 2007 with a swift rise in status with 3 singles, festival appearances at Hyde park and Guilfest, and support slots with bands such as Hell is for Heroes and Reuben putting their name on the map.

2008 will see the physical release of their debut album “Little Dreams”. To support this, Enjoy Destroy will be joining Alter Bridge on a massive UK tour during January and February, followed by a headline tour following the release of this album.

The young four piece from Basingstoke have been tipped for the top by many sources in the past and after the downloadable version of this album was a great success they decided that a physical release was needed.

Upon first listening to this album I didn’t know what to expect and was surprised to hear something quite different from the band. This album isn’t a generic re-hash of other bands styles or a monotonous attempt at writing classics but is an album which shows a talent for writing music.

“Little Dreams” is a pleasure to listen to as it flows so well and the vocals on the album by Freddie are accessible and heart felt. It bounces from its heavier rock moments in tracks such as “Screamer” to soft and emotive ballads such as “Lobby Pianist” with ease which does make the album quite difficult to categorise. It combines great moments of pop rock with punk influences, but it is clear to see that Enjoy Destroy haven’t written an album which contains songs restricted by genre but have written songs that they enjoy, that are impressive and also thought provoking. Many of the songs have powerful anthemic choruses which stick in your head and give Enjoy Destroy a great live performance appeal.

The album is extremely well balanced with moments which I think will attract many listeners. I do believe however that this is an album you will either love or hate. It is a smooth sounding, well produced album and you will either find it extremely thought provoking and touching or slightly monotonous as Enjoy Destroy are heavily reliant upon their powerful choruses and melody.

This is an album which I think will have a large impact upon the success of the band and I believe 2008 will be a good year for Enjoy Destroy. This will either be an album which you fall in love with, that defines a moment in your year, and that you remember for a long time as “The album that reminds me of summer”, or it will be an album which strikes you as being a good album but not quite great. However you feel about this album it is inevitable that Enjoy Destroy are steaming towards an even more exciting 2008 and may soon be the name on everyone’s lips.
