Elbow - Grounds For Divorce
Close you eyes. Imagine being at a gig, standing on the wooden floor, the speaker’s overhead tuned up just a little too high to give that crackling effect that seems as if it is surrounding you. That was the emotion that over came me as I first listened to ‘Grounds For Divorce,’ the first single to be taken from Elbow’s impending forth album ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’.
For the last two years the band have been busy with family life and musical commitments, but are back to give some great tunes. This track will hit out very hard as it is driven by some heavy guitar riffs. Lyrically, ‘Grounds For Divorce’ is influenced by the loss of a very close friend and about wanting to run from the aftermath of a situation. Because of this there is a lot of emotion present within the style and vocals; which are very deep.
This is a track to be taken notice of.
