Kooks - Always Where I Need To Be
I had to listen to this track a few times to fully enjoy it, but even then it was nothing in comparison to the Kooks' better hits like ‘She Moves In Her Own Way’, ‘Naïve’ and ‘Ooh La’.
‘Always Where I Need To Be’ is a guitar lead track with a beat that doesn’t really do anything for me. It doesn’t really stand out or make me want to get involved. The chorus was okay. The handclaps added a little more emphasis to the beat, as did the “dodo’s”. This particular part of the track was used as if lyrical lines to the song. The vocals are exactly what I expected after hearing their previous releases; there was nothing new or exhilarating.
To be honest, ‘Always Where I Need To Be’ is no match to the band's previous singles.
