The Courteeners - Not Nineteen Forever (do we need reminding)
The fourth single from one of Manchester’s newest by-products comes very close to the release of their debut album ‘St. Jude’.
Usually if a band have been together since childhood days there is a connection that links its way though to the music the band are playing. These four lads have been friends since school days, but there is very little that stands out on this track that connects them in this way.
To be honest, ‘Not Nineteen Forever’ sounds much like everything else indie that is taking over the airwaves today. Imagine Scouting For Girls’ with less of a jump in the tracks and more of a pumping beat. I found this track much more entertaining when accompanied by the video.
From someone who hit 19 and went on getting older I have to say, I’m not nineteen anymore and to be honest really don’t need reminding.
