Melodic goodness.

BSP have been putting out sweeping, tuneful uplifting indie-rock for some time now, like Joy Division at times but without being so existential and dark and this single is no exception. Unfortunately though, even though they do this kind of thing very well, this single, regardless of how good it is sounds too much Arcade Fire who are now much better known and loved than poor old BSP, never mind that BSP’s first album came out in 2003 just as Arcade Fire were in their infancy.

Of course all speculation about chickens and eggs is irrelevant really because ‘No Lucifer’ is a great single; fuzzy, danceable, melodic, epic and brimming over with strings and crescendos of beautifully structured noise that makes your skin prickle even after repeated listens.
