Named after a Ricky Gervais line, compared to everyone from We Were Cub Scouts to Digitalism and about to tour with erm Nine Inch Nails, it’s difficult to pigeon hole Does It Offend You. Yeah?. Their brand of electronic indie rock has been well received critically and to a certain extent commercially.
This their latest single is a fast paced, spiky little tune with cringingly emotive lyrics and stylish synths to boot. Perfect for indie club kids, fine for the EMO’s and just about ok for the dance crowd. But in trying to please everyone the band seem to have lost their way slightly, all will tolerate few will love. And what indeed is the point in making music purely to be tolerated? If the group don’t find their voice and stick to it soon they could risk falling by the wayside. Till then though sit back and feel free to kinda enjoy their ok latest, less than epic offering.
