Far From Profound

Well well what do we have here then? A female fronted rock monstrosity so hideously out of sync the band members sound like they are all playing a different track from one another? Why yes, that’s exactly what this is.

At face value this is lowest common denominator rock. It cuts between fast and slow poorly, the vocals sound raspy (in a nicotine ravaged way not a sexy way), it ticks the clichéd lyric box (“I am what I am” etc) and it has a grossly repetitive chorus.

In fact this is one of the most painful singles I’ve heard all year. And by painful think receiving felatio from a bloody big great white shark, who incidentally has decided to line its jaw with rusty barbed wire. Unpleasant, unnecessary and unintentionally rubbish Elena can shout and pout all they want but if the basic ingredients are as fundamentally rotten as they appear to be on this, then they’ll sink faster than a M. Night Shyamalan movie at the box office.
