Supergrass
What is essentially wonderful about Supergrass is that for the duration of their career they’ve have remained consistent, they’ve churned a series of wonderful songs, they deliver some of the finest live performances known to the British Isles and they are real musical icons. That is of course up until recently, well, according to much of the common music press. Though, that is where they are all bloody wrong.
Supergrass remain the icons they’ve always been, their live sets have matured and are just as good, if not better than ever and their writing skills are still top-notch. Sure, they’re boozy rock n’ roll lifestyle may have caught up with them, and they look rather washed out but scrape back the bristles and the JD soaked overalls, and you’ll find the same old band astonishingly intact. “Rebel In You” has the core elements of any good Supergrass song; a powerful melodic chorus, with sugar sweet harmonies, swooping guitar riffs and incandescent musicianship.
This marks the return of Supergrass; a band untouched by the test of time and bouncing back, bigger and better than ever before.
