Sexy Summer Style
'Dita Diamoné' sees Pop Levi moving away from a slightly cringeworthy glam style into something far more cool and grown up. It's like his music has finally reached adolescence after several lurid and cheesy singles as the bassline fills out and begins to swing its hips, the vocals develop a sexed-up swagger and the melody feels thick with electro grooves. It's undeniably a summer tune with a bright beat and lyrical references to cars, which somehow always seem to evoke the image of convertibles in such rich musical surroundings. For a funked-up summer tune which oozes cool, you can't go wrong here.
I don't know what it is about rappers and diamonds but 'Dita Diamoné's first remix features the skills of Xrabit who adds some wordy wisdom about topless women and the like. This is highly unnecessary and probably also unwanted. The other remixes adds various shades of dance beats that will also the tune entrance to any variety of dance club, but aren't conducive to pleasant listening through headphones.
