Bouncy.
“Swirls” is a sweet little indie pop tune on which the usual quintessentially English accented vocals fail to irritate as much as they often do, it’s understated and has bags of melodic charm. For such a young band Guildean Gang have a good idea of what will sell; this tune is perfect BBC radio prime time fodder. The B side ‘Pat Attack’ is slightly more generic, still pretty catchy but with more of what you’d expect to hear from a slightly jagged indie band. Neither track is going to set the world alight but they’re both light and airy, full of energy and easy to sing along to which can often be enough because as long as most people have a bouncy tune with a catchy chorus to chant and dance to on a Saturday night they’re happy and the track will probably be remembered.
