A mini album from Royal Treatment Plant

Pop rock rebels Royal Treatment Plant with PP at the front have already graced our presence with ‘Get Played’ and ‘undercurrent’ but have a few more tracks up their sleeves.

With their post-punk and progressive nature, from the minute the opening title track begins with an explosion of sound you know instantly the rhythm and method that this album is going to follow. With ripe riffs balancing out each and every song on this Cd, you be will in beat bop heaven for half hour. The single ‘Get Played’ was the start of something big with its subtle verses and volatile choruses. The aggressiveness of some songs is upbeat and slightly dark. The melodic sounds that stream through ‘Hearts and Minds’ are les aggressive and retain less dance rhythm than the other tracks, which show a new side of the band. ‘You Don't Need Me’ is full of sharp riffs and tiptop talented tones and

The concluding track to the mini album, ‘Pricey’ is gentle with just the pinging of a reserved guitar, and much like a ballad in the making. As it grows in intensity and melody though it loses this basis and becomes a more indie number.

Vocals on this release are from PP and are actually pretty good. They move from subtle nudges to screaming choruses with pressure and power, to mystifying waves. Lyrically the eight tracks on this release are innovatively put together to create a mood for every situation. In ‘Undercurrent’ the lines “You see/you /you see how your effecting me/you know/you know/you know how low my mind goes” will be permanently imprinted in the mind of a listener. From the minute you hear this track you will not be able to forget about it, lyrically, vocally and musically.

Whether you are interested in the style of music Royal Treatment Plant are serving up or not, there is no denying that this is a band made for the industry. With the musical arrangements and PP’s incredible vocal succession, big things are going to happen for these guys.
