Beck is Back

Beck is back and he sounds exactly like a cross between early Vitesse and Of Montreal. This of course means he is in every respect just as bonkers as ever but equally just as much fun.

His voice in particular is so far removed from the more radio friendly sound of E-Pro it’s almost as if it doesn’t feature on the track at all but just hangs by the sideline haunting it like some sort of ethereal side note. Because of this the lyrics are barely audible but the sweeping epicly constructed instrumentals are so much of a joy to listen to, this is barely important.

As a whole this is a brilliant single in equal measures hypnotic, relaxing and of course typically unpredictable. As a taster of his soon to be released ‘Modern Guilt album ‘Chemtrails’ is more than enough of a delicacy to suggest the whole thing will be better than good.
