Oh dear.
Dear God indeed, this is horrendous. M Shadows vocals are really not suited to this kind of slow country style song at all he just sounds horribly nasal and whiney (like Lois Griffin.) The track seems to go on ad infinitum, at 4 minutes 45 a lot of tracks can have you still gagging for more while this just leaves you gagging for air. The lyrics are dire, the ‘country style’ acoustic and slide guitar is incredibly clichéd and unoriginal and those awful vocals just rub you up the wrong way, having the same effect as nails running down a blackboard, it’s hard to believe this is Avenged Sevenfold at all, at least when they’re in metal mode they have a bit of life and energy about them, this aural assault is more like a dirge.
